Daud had been involved with Global Service Corps, an NGO dealing with HIV/AIDS prevention, food security and nutrition, and bio-intensive agriculture, from 2001 to 2006. He started as the President of the Health Club at Arusha Secondary School, who had a working relationship with GSC, and then moved into the organization as the Peer Education Coordinator for the 10 schools in the Arusha area. He was promoted to Assistant In-Country Coordinator. He served as Acting In-Country Coordinator, when the In-Country Coordinator was out of the country.
Daud was a student leader for the English Department in the Student Government during high school. He was responsible for developing projects and activities to help students improve their English language skills. He also started a successful pen pal project with students from his high school and those from a school in Boston, Massachusetts.
Daud has also helped other local NGOs over the years like Women in Action for Development, Church of God-An Orphan AID Project, and KIWOHEDE to get volunteers, trainers, and sponsors/donors from his contacts abroad.
